Design Disciplines Needed
Architecture, Interior Design
We would greatly appreciate assistance designing the floor plan of the new suite, adjacent to the future kitchen. We have multiple programmatic needs that we hope to address by expanding. We also would like to have the space reflect a confidential, but simultaneously warm and inviting atmosphere for our youth.
Beyond Emancipation (B:E) offers a range of services to support current and former foster youth in their transition to living as independent adults. As of July 2016, B:E is also now implementing the Alameda County Independent Living Program (ILP) for youth ages 14-21. With the expansion of services, B:E is in great need of additional space. The Operations team is working closely with our current building manager to seek space in a vacant suite at the front of our building, in addition to a storage room that we are hoping to convert to a kitchen for youth culinary training.
Timeline: The project timeline is aggressive. We hope to have the concept by the end of August.
“Steiner Architecture assisted our organization at a time when we had planned a suite expansion from scratch, but did not yet have a vision of how the space would be configured. We received instantaneous support and advice. Within a short timeframe, we had detailed discussions about our organization's mission, and this paved the way for us to realize the vision of the suite that would reflect the needs of the community we serve. We received not only this supportive guidance, but a detailed plan to ensure that the vision translated to the build-out. We are forever grateful to Steiner Architecture.”
-Paula, B:E Operations Manager
B:E is experiencing a time of great change and growth. We want to ensure the continued success of our programs by creating a space that reflects our mission.
