Trinity Youth Camp

Rolla, North Dakota
Project Description

Trinity Youth Camp's foundation began with the laying of a single stone over 33 years ago --- a conversation over coffee between two Catholic mothers in Rolla, ND. With grace and guidance, this idea was nurtured and TYC has grown from one week-long summer camp serving the Catholic youth of three north central North Dakota communities to four summer sessions and off-season mini-camps serving youth in multiple locations across the state. Over the years, TYC's prayers have always been answered - usually in the form of time, talent and treasure that has always come just when it's most needed. And now, after much discernment, Trinity Youth Camp is proceeding - with focused determination and encouragement from the Holy Spirit - to seek a permanent home. Though a nascent vision, TYC and her supporters have begun to formulate some early thoughts about what this could be in terms of program, location, partnerships and buildings. While these ideas are being cultivated, it is important to give some tangible representation of what this "home"could be; and so JLG Architects assisted TYC by developing a brochure describing some of the factors that influence design - using JLG case study images of a similar scale and sensibility - and provided a sketch concept that Trinity Youth Camp can use in communicating her initial vision.
