Since 2009, Minneapolis film buffs have enjoyed The Trylon microcinema as a special venue that offers classic, foreign, and cult films on the big screen. Located in an old warehouse building, popular shows within the tiny 50-seat theater would often sell out.
When Trylon's executive director brought the idea of a remodel to MSR, some of the firm's own film lovers gladly volunteered to provide pro bono design services. Now more functional and welcoming, the new-and-improved Trylon Cinema includes an expanded screen and sound system and twice as many seats to better accommodate popular features. The relocated entrance provides a proper lobby with a box office and concession stand, and cinema goers can easily view a new marquee located inside the lobby.
