Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia- ReStore

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Project Description

What surrounds us shapes us. Where we work, where we live - the design of these spaces impact our well-being and health, improves performance and increases overall self-esteem.

Evidence based design confirms the need to ensure that each home built for a family is provided with some basic essentials to make it a home. The primary goal of this project is to create a design program within Habitat for Humanity Philly in conjunction with the ReStore to create interior environments for the homes that are completed that promote health, wellness and productivity.

In order to do that, we will create partnerships with interior designers, the design community, design organizations and colleges to create skilled volunteers to help carry out this goal.

Designers will help improve store merchandising, connect clients with ReStore to donate items, and to implement a design a house program using ReStore or partner donated products to fit out the interior of each home.

Timeline
The store opened 6/25/15. EFSD helped stage the store for the grand opening. Programs will be implemented throughout the year.
